my daily nervous system plan

A colleague was asking me about my daily routine for my nervous system and was so surprised by my answer...
Because, I told her I didn't have one.
There's not a particular practice or sequence of events I do to keep my nervous system regulated at this point.
But, I do structure my life in a way that keeps me more regulated, more of the time.
And, with the knowledge of how dysregulation feels in my body, I can bring in more specific support as I need to.
There are biological factors that play into my level of regulation, such as:
the quality of sleep I get
eating to maintain blood sugar balance
staying hydrated (which can feel hard in Colorado!)
the mineral balance in my body
making sure my lymph is healthy and flowing
And, there are behavioral factors that play into it, such as:
starting my day with a morning walk
being less focused on what I eat (after years of a rigid diet)
knowing my own red flags toward dysregulation
speaking up about how I really feel (especially in areas where I used to hold shame, or catching a negative pattern in real time)
trusting my body sensations when things feel off
Lastly, there are things I do in my business to stay regulated, like:
always having a coach or mentor to help me with perspective
no longer holding myself to standards of perfectionism
keeping really good boundaries with clients
setting a schedule that suits my body and brain rhythm
not taking things personally (being able to observe the nervous system patterns at play with my clients and colleagues helps a lot)
Each of these keeps me in more awareness and connection with my nervous system, so I don't have to be strict about a specific daily plan.
That's because once you get into a regulated place, things flow. You can be more consistent and more present to what's happening in real time.
You don't have to rely on an specific practice because things are integrated into your daily life!
That's what I want to help you with this year: integration.
👉 So, I'm now offering Integrative Nervous System Coaching where you can support the 3 Bs—biology, behaviors, and business—in one place.
I could say more about exact details and outcomes, but this is getting long. So, I'll leave you with this for now...
When you understand and support you nervous system, everything feels easier.
